During shipbuilding, blocks are joined together and each joint is welded.

Currently, high-efficiency EGW welding is the most common method for vertical welding, but FCAW welding is performed using a standard carriage or manually for transverse welding.

Developing dedicated transverse EGW welding equipment and performing semi-automatic welding is expected to reduce welding time by approximately 15-25% (reducing overall process time due to increased welding efficiency). This not only stabilizes and improves weld quality, but also reduces labor intensity.

Since EGW welding cannot weld the entire groove, the remaining additional welds must be completed using FCAW welding.

B. Equipment Configuration

1) Welding Machine Body: 1 set

- Drive: Rack & Pinon Gear Drive

- Torch Control Slide: 1 set

- Copper Immersion Control: 1 set

- Current Sensor: 1 set

- Controller (mounted): 1 set

- Intermediate Box (welder control and carriage communication): 1 set

- Cables: Welder ↔ Intermediate Box, Intermediate Box ↔ Carriage, Carriage ↔ Feeder, etc. 1 set

2) Welding Machine: 1 set (user-defined)

- Power Source (600A) - 1 set

- Wire Feeder - 1 set

- Special Cooling Torch - 1 set

- Welding Cable - 1 set (95 sq ft x 50 m)
